This year, more and more people are working from home. Inevitably, this has led to more time in front of our computer screens. But, what about on our days off work, or after work? Devices such as cellphones, tablets and the TV can also cause problems for our eyesight.
But how bad is all this screen time for our vision? Is it true we can damage our eyes as well as our vision by spending too much in front of a screen? Well, the good news is our eyes will not be permanently affected, but existing eye conditions could worsen leading to deteriorating eyesight.
Doctors often say people who spend more than three hours a day in front of a computer screen are more likely to experience symptoms such as:
- Dry eyes.
- Eyestrains.
- Burning sensation.
- Migraines.
- Changes in color perception.
- Blurred vision.
So, although spending long periods of time looking at our computer or electronic devices shouldn’t cause any permanent eye conditions, we’re more likely to suffer annoying problems such as these.
